New Zealand “treasure” ELIZABETH MARVELLY will hit the high notes for the ALL BLACKS during their upcoming international season.

Elizabeth – her patriotism highlighted by her recent top-selling album HOME – will sing the New Zealand national anthem for the Bledisloe Cup matches in Brisbane and Auckland next month.

She has also been chosen to sing for her favourite team at their Tri-Nations match against the Springbok at the Westpac Stadium, Wellington, on July 30.

Elizabeth will be hoping to raise the roof on Eden Park when she sings at her first Bledisloe on August 6; and then go for a repeat performance at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on August 27.

The 22-year-old Kiwi songstress, described by Prime Minister John Key as a 'national treasure', says "It's always a huge honour to sing for the All Blacks.”

“My family is completely rugby-mad so I always feel really excited to be singing on the same pitch that our boys will play on. With the World Cup so close, I'm really looking forward to seeing our team play hard and I promise to try my best to sing them to victory!

Elizabeth is used to performing in front of large crowds. It began when she was just 16 and taken to the national stage by her uncle, the late Sir Howard Morrison. Then came her debut album and an Australasian and European tour with Britain's Got Talent opera phenomenon Paul Potts. She performed to crowds numbering in the millions at prestigious venues including Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House; Elizabeth Marvelly’s musical life has been a wonderful ride.

Earlier this year she enlisted a small army of artists and friends to stage a charity event to help raise money for the NZ Red Cross Earthquake Appeal. ‘To Christchurch With Love’, featuring Paul Potts, the NZSO and other best loved New Zealand artists, raised in excess of $115,000 for the Appeal. Elizabeth has also donated a percentage of her record sales profits to the NZ Red Cross Earthquake Appeal. An added highlight of 2011 has been a critically acclaimed Headline tour through New Zealand with the NZSO.

the fundraising concert brainchild of Elizabeth Marvelly and starring PAUL POTTS, the NZSO and some of New Zealand’s best loved artists — has raised in excess of $115,000 for the 2011 NZ Red Cross Earthquake Appeal.

About 100 entertainers and entertainment industry professionals volunteered their time and talent to stage the concert at the Bruce Mason Centre in Auckland on Saturday night. Potts received a standing ovation for his performance of Nessun Dorma and the packed to the rafters auditorium cheered wildly as all artists bowed for the final curtain.

“A resounding success,” is how co-producer Kate Ward-Smythe described the event. “Artists, professionals and the audience have all made a valuable contribution to the future of Christchurch. We are very proud to have been able to make a small difference in rebuilding this community.”
